From a young age, Catherine had a profound relationship with Jesus. At just 7 years old, she consecrated her virginity to Him. By 21, she was receiving visions of Christ and the saints. But her spiritual life wasn’t an escape from the world—it was the very thing that set her on fire to serve it. She cared for the sick, comforted the dying, and even confronted powerful Church leaders, always driven by the desire to see the Bride of Christ restored and renewed.
Her virtues were many: humility, courage, obedience, and a relentless love for truth. But above all, it was her passionate love for Jesus that gave meaning to everything. Her famous words still echo in the hearts of women today: “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.”
St. Catherine reminds us that holiness is not about perfection—it’s about surrender. It’s about loving Jesus so completely that we cannot help but bring His light into the world, whether in our homes, our parishes, or beyond.
As Catholic women, may we draw strength from her example, speak boldly for truth, and live our daily lives as an offering of love to Christ.
